Braga in the Top10 of European Cities of the Future
Braga is in seventh place in the Top10 of European Cities of the Future of the Financial Times' FDi Intelligence magazine. The prestigious ranking "European Cities and Regions of the Future 2020/2021 - the Best and the brightest among Europe investments destination" places Braga in 7th place for the first time, ahead of cities like Reading (UK), Cork (Ireland) and Nicosia (Cyprus). The category, led by the Icelandic capital of Reykjavik, assesses the strategy for attracting foreign investment in cities below 200 000 inhabitants.
Ricardo Rio, Mayor of Braga and President of InvestBraga, expressed his satisfaction, saying that "Braga's inclusion in this ranking is further proof that our strategy to attract investment is working. In recent years, the Municipality of Braga has had a policy of great external promotion and we feel that the inclusion in this type of rankings values our City and our business fabric".
For the Mayor of Braga, the appearance of Braga in the ranking of the Financial Times magazine gives visibility to the city and highlights the opportunities for investment in the international market. Ricardo Rio also said that "last month we were informed of the inclusion of Braga in this ranking and we chose to capture even more prominence in this supplement that came out this February".
The FDi supplement has a page dedicated to Braga where it highlights its history and innovation, addressing the competitive advantages and all the added value it offers not only to investors but also to its visitors and inhabitants.
